The absolute value is the magnitude of a real number without regard to it's sign. In other words the absolute value is the positive value of a number without regard of its sign. Absolute value start with 0 on the number line. the formula of absolute value is as follows,

Absolute value Formula:

Some of the solved examples of absolute value formula are given bellow:

Example 1: Find the absolute value of function |x+3| = 7.
Solution:

Given |x+3| = 7

Solve absolute value bar
(x+3)=7
or, -(x+3)=7
or, x+3=7
or, -x-3=7
x=4 or x=-10

Example 2: Find the absolute value of function |2x+4|-4 = 10.
Solution:

Given |2x+4|-4 = 10
|2x+4|=14

Solve absolute value bar
(2x+4) = 14
or, -(2x+4)=14
or, 2x=10
or, -2x= 18
x = 5 or x = -9
