Measurement is nothing but the action of measuring something. Measurement formulas are used to solve the amount, length, and size of something. These formula are used to find the area, volume, distance, surface area etc. of different figures. Measurement formulas also include conversion of units like meter to miles and inch to feet and so on.

Some of the measurement formula are given below,

Where,
L = Length,
W = Width,
B = Area of the base,
h = One side length of the prism.

## Examples of Measurement formulas

Some solved examples of measurement formula are given below:

Question 1: Fine the area of a rectangle with length 5 units and width 3 units?
Solution:
Given length L = 5 units

Width W = 3 units

Area of rectangle, A = LW

Area of rectangle, $A = 5\times 3$

Area of rectangle, A = 15 $units^{2}$

Question 2: Find the distance between two points (2, 3) and (6, 4)?
Solution:
Given (x1, y1) = (2, 3)
(x2, y2) = (6, 4)

Distance between the points,

Distance = $\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_2-y_1)^{2}}$

Distance = $\sqrt{(6-2)^{2}+(4-3)^{2}}$

Distance = 4.123 units
